Ultra-corrosion resistant titanium wire, 1.0 mm diameter.
As Titanium Grade 2 is 99% pure, it is more corrosion resistant than Grade 5 and Grade 9, but less mechanically strong. It has good formability and weldability. Common applications include electrochemistry, chemical processing equipment, heat exchangers, and marine hardware.
In electrochemistry, titanium wires are commonly used as electrodes due to their excellent corrosion resistance, high strength, and good electrical conductivity. They can be used in various applications.
Titanium wires can serve as a substrate for immobilizing sensing materials that detect various analytes in solutions. They can be used as a cathode or anode in electroplating processes to deposit metals onto surfaces. In Battery research they are used as current collectors or electrodes.
Titanium's resistance to corrosion makes it suitable for studying the electrochemical behavior of different materials in corrosive environments.
